What is MWS Helper?

MWS Helper is a web app for managing midweek meeting assignments. It lets you view the upcoming schedule, confirm that participants are available, and flag assignments that need a replacement — all from your phone or computer browser.

Changes you make here are synced to the desktop scheduling app and the Android companion app automatically.

Logging In

On the login screen, enter your username and password. Your login is remembered so you won't need to sign in again unless you log out or clear your browser data.

Viewing the Schedule

After logging in, you see a list of upcoming meetings. Each meeting card shows the date, meeting roles (Chairman, Prayers, CBS Reader), and all assigned parts. Each row shows:

Confirming Assignments

Tap on any assignment row to see the available actions. The most common action is Confirm, which marks the person as available for that part.

Single-person parts

For parts with one person (e.g. Bible Reading, Talk), tapping the row lets you confirm or revert the entire assignment.

Meeting roles

Meeting roles (Chairman, Opening Prayer, Closing Prayer, CBS Reader) work the same way as single-person parts. Tap the role row to confirm, revert, or flag as needing a replacement.

Two-person parts (student + assistant)

Parts like Starting a Conversation, Following Up, Making Disciples, and Explaining Beliefs have both a primary participant (student) and an assistant. Each side has its own status and can be confirmed or reverted independently.

Tap the primary row to confirm or revert the student. Tap the assistant row to confirm or revert the assistant.

Auto-promotion: When both the primary and the assistant are confirmed, the overall assignment status automatically promotes to Confirmed. If either side is reverted back to Assigned, the overall status reverts too.

Reverting a Confirmation

If someone was confirmed by mistake or their availability changed, tap the assignment row and choose Revert to Assigned. This moves the status back to Assigned without affecting the other participant (for 2-person parts).

Requesting a Replacement

If someone can't make their assignment, tap the row and choose Needs Replacement. You'll be asked for an optional reason (e.g. "out of town").

What happens next?

  1. The assignment status changes to Needs Sub
  2. The scheduler receives an email notification with the details
  3. A pending-sub card appears on the desktop app's dashboard
  4. The scheduler reassigns the part and the flag is auto-resolved

Two-person parts

For 2-person parts, you choose which side needs the replacement — primary or assistant. Only that side's status changes; the other side keeps its current status.
